50 ans d’engagement pour l’égalité entre les femmes et les hommes (only in french)

February 06, 2025 - May 04, 2025

Only in french – Presented by the Conseil du statut de la femme on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, this exhibition offers a retrospective on the progress made in Quebec regarding gender equality.

It focuses on both the advancements that have shaped Quebec, the social movements, and the actors of change who drove these developments.

Aimed at audiences of all ages, the exhibition provides an exploration of our collective history through the lens of women’s living conditions and their evolution: family, work, politics, education, socialization, and health. With evocative themes supported by photographs, archival documents, and interactive activities, the exhibition is designed with a focus on raising awareness.

The Mhist is proud to host this traveling exhibition. With the goal of integrating it further into its mission of research and dissemination on the history of the Sherbrooke region, the Mhist team has made it a point to add a local dimension. Through banners, video excerpts, and elements from the museum’s collections, discover the journeys of women who have contributed to various fields of activity.
