Pin Solitaire

May 22, 2025 - June 22, 2025

The exhibition Pin Solitaire explores personal and historical narratives related to Mena’sen Rock, also known as the Lone Pine Rock.

Gathered during the artist’s wanderings or sourced from the Sherbrooke Museum of History’s collection, these narratives offer a vivid image of the Rock, intertwining various realities (historical, identity-based, relational). As a result, the history of Mena’sen Rock is reexamined from a personal perspective rooted in today’s society.

“I was particularly struck by the Lone Pine Rock, a rocky islet located in the Saint-François River in Sherbrooke, which I photographed and filmed several times during walks in the winter of 2022. Perplexed by the presence of a metal cross perched atop it, I began researching at the Sherbrooke Museum of History the following autumn. There, I learned about the significance of this landmark for the region, from the past to the present. From then on, I wanted to rediscover and share the story of the Lone Pine Rock.”
